Lesson 12, – “I am upset because I see a meaningless world” caused Deborah to feel that all her prior work as a community worker lacked meaning. She decided to discard ACIM, literally tossing the book in the garbage can. Murray, her late husband, retrieved the book. After some time, Deborah began pose a question, open the book at random and receive meaningful messages, and the study began in earnest. Murray found the daily lessons on line and they began to study the lessons.
After many years of study of ACIM, research with books, seminars and tapes with Dr. Kenneth Wapnick, both Deborah and Murray accept the world outside the body is indeed an illusion and a distraction device designed by ego to disrupt the connection to the Source of Creation.
ACIM may be summed up in these few line
Nothing real can be threatened
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
